Built-Up Hoist
A built up hoist is tailored towards a specific application usually with a heavy duty
cycle to handle the demanding needs. There are two contrasting ways to build a built up,
you can either build every component in house from the gear case to bottom block or you can
do a hybrid using components which are recognized to be best in class,
standardize on those and fabricate the rest of the components specific to the application.
For instance if you were to build a lawnmower you would probably use a Brigs and Stratton
engine because they have been around over 100 years and have built a solid reputation
based on the reliability and performance of their engines. There is no reason to re-invent
the wheel and try to build a better engine with proprietary parts, Briggens and Straten has
the volume to have top of the line R&D which one Lawnmower Company can’t rival. We take that
same approach when building our hoist, for instance we use SEW Eurodrive gearboxes which we
believe are second to none, marathon motors which are recognized across many industries to be
the standard and Electromotive controls which are know in the material handling business as a
proven leader. By doing this we also offer our customers top of the line performance while
keeping cost in line. Another advantage gained by the customer is availability when it comes to
maintenance and parts because you are not tied only to us. Using proprietary components locks
the customer into a single source and is not the approach Proserv has taken when designing hoists.
We are very proud of our design of our true built-up hoist, please take a look at some of our products by

served with our hoists and the customers testimonials by following the respective links below.
